Teepay T-Shirts

TEEPAY.COM

When I was down at 4Designers in London one of the design practices there spoke about how they did the branding and marketing for a company called TEEPAY. Essentially it's a project where you can submit your own designs for a t-shirt and make money out of it.

I thought this would be a really cool thing to get involved with because you can pretty much design anything to go on a t-shirt and there is the potential to make money if the design is really good. I'm sure we've all thought about designing our own t-shirts and if there is a company that can do the professional printing for us it would be a shame not to take this opportunity.

Just an idea...

Solv trip to Camera Obscura

A few photos taken on a trip Solv made to Camera Obscura yesterday. The visit was to get a few ideas for our anti-drinking campaign for YCN.

Spotted this over on highsnobiety.com.

Nike's, Human Chain.
The music is a little bit cheesy but the content is cool.

Culture Jamming: Adbusters Absolut adverts

Using the mass media and corporate giants own language / medium to fight back. This can be called subversive advertising.

Why Let Drink Decide

Again a pretty powerful advert juxtaposing the innocence of these young people and the effect alcohol could have on them. Focuses on the ability alcohol has to drastically change an individual.

Alcohol, It's no Joke

A couple of adverts from the Why Let Drink Decide website, a government initiative. Quite powerful in the way that the adverts end in an unexpected way and make the viewer realise it isn't a laughing matter. Using famous figures who the young target audience will most likely be familiar and respect, the point is even stronger.

Transcripts of the adverts can be download from the website here.

Gorgeous poster designed by Bibliothèque as part of a series of posters created for the London Design Festival that '...brought together the work of 20 leading graphic designers and typographers to celebrate London as the creative capital of the world'. Others included Fernando Gutteriez, Morag Myerscough, Mike Dempsey, Alan Kitching and Frith Kerr.

Solv meeting

The creative directors of Solv ( from right: Magda, Tom and Piotr) had a meeting in a cafe to talk about further projects. A 3-hour long discussion was productive and the company has started working on a big brief alongside some cool self-promotional materials.

Northern Design Competition

I was thinking we could do some projects to be entered into the NDC. Officially I don't think groups are allowed to enter but we could always make up some fictitious character and enter under his/her name?! Pretty big prize to be won and the recognition would be good too.
